Ren's quest for scattered treasures is the plot of Pirates of Dark Water, a 1994 Super Nintendo license of the Hanna-Barbera series. It is a cartoon tie-in, not an original pirate design with its own ship and lore.
The Dark Water itself is the threat from the show, swallowing islands while Ren gathers the prizes that can stop it. Side-view fights and swims follow that episode logic.
No separate studio legend is required to explain the swords. The cartoon's Ren, the spreading stain, and the treasure hunt are the cartridge.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
None in this catalog yet.
No wider family is grouped for this title beyond the series list.
