History

Yasumi Matsuno and Quest marched squads in real time across Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen, a 1993 Super Famicom strategy game. Moral alignment shifts with the battles you choose and the towns you liberate or exploit.

It is the first Ogre Battle, not Tactics Ogre. Units walk a map, meet the enemy, and resolve a fight on a separate field according to formation and class.

Tarot cards and a reputation meter color the ending. The march, the alignment, and the squads are this game; the later tactical grids are a different Quest release.
