History
Crystal Dynamics brought the television-quoting lizard back in Gex: Enter the Gecko (1998), chasing him through movie-set rooms on PlayStation beside the Nintendo 64 release. The Game Boy Color cartridge is a separate flat version of that gecko, not those roomy sets squeezed down.
Gex tail-whips through movie-channel rooms while firing quips at the camera. Remote gags and costume worlds are the joke, and the 3D editions let a camera follow him into those sets.
The color handheld redraws the same wisecracking hero as flat stages. Players who quote the voice lines usually mean the console adventure, while the cartridge keeps the character without those 3D rooms.
