Marth reclaims Altea in Intelligent Systems' remake Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. The 2009 DS strategy RPG retells the first Fire Emblem, the story western players had mostly missed.
Permadeath, weapon triangles, and the prince's campaign follow the original war rather than the later lords western boxes had already shown. Replacement units can fill a grave if a cavalier falls.
Western players meeting Marth here were often meeting that first tale for the first time. Shadow Dragon is the DS remake of it, not a sequel about a new continent.
