History

Jellybean shapes revive a partnership in A Boy and His Blob, WayForward's 2009 remake of David Crane's 1989 puzzle. Feed the blob and it becomes a tool, a ladder or a trampoline depending on the flavor, and Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS all received that remake.

The boy cannot jump the gap himself. The blob is the verb, and the jellybean is the menu, which is the idea Crane shipped and WayForward redrew.

The 1989 puzzle is the ancestor. These Nintendo releases are the remake, flavors and all, not the original handheld's screen.
