History

Extended Play Productions developed EA Sports' first association-football game, FIFA International Soccer, and consoles received it in 1993 already. An isometric pitch stood out from the top-down soccer that had dominated pads.

The camera angle shows more of the field's depth, and a through ball reads differently than it did on a flat overhead view. International sides, not a club season, fill the first menus.

That isometric debut is the whole identity of this first FIFA. Later numbered seasons add leagues and licenses this opening pitch did not yet carry.
