History

SNK upgraded Fatal Fury 2 into Fatal Fury Special, adding fighters and combo routes on Neo Geo in 1993 already. Terry Bogard remains the lead, and the new arrivals widen a roster that already had his brother Andy and Joe Higashi.

Lane switching, a habit of the Fatal Fury line, still lets a fighter hop to the far plane. Special's extra combo routes reward players who already knew the second game's motions.

The Super Nintendo version is a home port of that revision. It is not a new tournament with a new plot; it is the Neo Geo upgrade, brought to the pad.
