A sensor bar and a wrist were the whole gym in Wii Sports, the pack-in that taught tennis, bowling, baseball, golf, and boxing. A late tennis swing sails long, and a crooked bowling wrist finds the gutter the same way.
Miis stand in for the athletes, and a swing of the remote is the shot, the roll, or the punch. Bowling gutters and late tennis swings became the living room's shared language for the new controller.
Nintendo packed the collection with the console launch in 2006, as the original five-event lesson. Resort and the later Switch sports pack are different products.
