Spinning for consonants is the whole turn in Wheel of Fortune (Old). The early home version of the television quiz, dated 1988, lets players spin a wheel and call letters against a puzzle board.
A bankrupt wedge still ruins a hot streak. The host's wheel and the letter board are the show, translated into a game that does not need a new plot.
Later television seasons changed sets and prizes. This older home edition is the wheel-and-letter ritual from the dated release, before the show's later stage designs.
