Fred Flintstone sets out after a kidnapped dinosaur and hopparoo in The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy. Taito built the NES trek from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, and the United States release arrived in 1991 already.
Dino and Hoppy are the captives, so the stages send Fred through Bedrock gadgets, clubs, and stone vehicles. Barney and the quarry sit behind a rescue plot, not a bowling-night sketch.
The hopparoo and the dinosaur are the goal at the end of that march. Fred's stone-age weapons are the means, and the cartoon town is the license's scenery.
