History

Sharaku's forehead hides a third eye in Mitsume ga Tooru, Natsume's Famicom adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's manga The Three-Eyed One. The eye, when uncovered, changes the boy who otherwise looks harmless.

Natsume released the Japanese action game in 1992, using Tezuka's character and the temple imagery. The cartridge did not receive a contemporary English release.

Players outside Japan met the manga long before they could meet this board in translation. The third eye and Sharaku are the manga facts the Famicom game is using.
