Sieges resolve through match puzzles on the kingdom map of Puzzle Kingdoms. Infinite Interactive's 2009 strategy-puzzle hybrid is a DS cousin of Puzzle Quest.
Armies meet, then a gem board decides the battle, and the map remembers which castle changed hands. It borrows the match-to-fight idea from Puzzle Quest without being that wizard's quest.
Capturing territory and clearing gems are the two halves of a turn. The DS release is that cousin, kingdom map included.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.
