History

A paddle is the whole body of the player in BIT.TRIP CORE, Gaijin Games' second rhythm release on WiiWare. A perfect return adds a layer to the chiptune, and a miss peels that layer back off.

Beats travel as blocks, and batting them back on time thickens the chiptune. Miss enough and the arrangement collapses toward a bare pulse, which is how the series shows failure.

The 2009 grid is harsher than the first rebound game, with the same rule that every successful return is a note. Boss waves arrive as dense clusters rather than as separate enemies with health bars.
