History

Stick aiming drives the rail in Sin and Punishment. The shooter moves on a fixed path while the control stick places the shot, which is a different demand from a free camera.

Treasure released the Nintendo 64 game in Japan in 2000, and players elsewhere noticed it later. Saki and Airan run the on-rails stages, and a Wii follow-up, Star Successor, arrived years afterward as its own game.

Score and survival share the screen. A locked path means the skill is leading the reticle, not exploring a corridor for a hidden door.
