Larger connected worlds and new egg types continue the hunt in Banjo-Tooie, Rare's sequel still made in the studio's Nintendo years. Banjo and Kazooie can split up, and a pad in one region opens a door that the pair already walked past.
Clockwork eggs, grenade eggs, and other new shots join the moves Gruntilda's return demands. Jamjars teaches those moves from a bunker, replacing the first game's mole teacher with a drill sergeant.
The 2000 Nintendo 64 worlds bleed into one another instead of resetting at a lair door. That connection, plus the egg roster and the split-up, is how the sequel outgrows the first collection of jiggies.
