Marco and Tarma get a cleaner board in Metal Slug X, SNK's rebalanced revision of the second arcade mission. The 1999 changes ease the slowdown that hurt that earlier hardware.
Prisoners still yell for a gun, the Metal Slug tank still rolls over infantry, and General Morden's army is still the target. New weapon balance and fewer choked frames are the reason to pick this revision when both boards are available.
Metal Slug 2 is the game this one repairs. X keeps the jokes, the POWs, and the tank, and it tries to make the busiest screens playable.
