Penta waddles toward the South Pole in Antarctic Adventure, Konami's ice trek across floes and fishing holes. The penguin's slide has a time limit, and falling through a gap costs the trip.
Konami's arcade version of that polar run dates to 1983, with fish already leaping from holes in the ice. Penta's line toward the South Pole fails if a floe gap takes him under.
The Famicom cartridge is a home version of that arcade trip, not a later original with a new route. Penta, the floes, and the South Pole goal are the whole journey.
