Enn, Ray, and Hyu open Advance Guardian Heroes, Treasure's 2004 Game Boy Advance follow-up to the Saturn brawler, published by Ubisoft. Fire, lightning, and ice set those three starters apart, and directional weapon strings supply the combos. A demon's offer after a knockout can change which ending plays, a narrower fork than the many routes of the Saturn game.
Holding the attack and steering it changes the string, so one button is not the whole moveset. Launched foes can be chased upward, and a mistimed special leaves a wide opening. Magic spends a gauge that does not refill generously between crowds.
Stage order stays fixed, unlike the Saturn campaign's reshuffling paths. Two players can share story mode, and a versus option waits for a direct fight. Further fighters are earned later, but the campaign begins with the three elemental leads.
Ubisoft published Treasure's handheld brawler for players who never owned the Saturn original. Later chapters punish a repeated pattern, and mashing through a group stops working once the enemy sets overlap.
Same series is the tight name match. Same franchise is the wider family. Same platform is other games on the systems named above.

No wider family is grouped for this title beyond the series list.
