Manhattan replaces the west coast when Marcus Reed takes the case in True Crime: New York City. Luxoflux moved the open-world cop series there in 2005, and Reed's history with the street is the reason the precinct bothers to use him.
Borough traffic, a subway entrance, and a shootout that can spill into a store are the city's grain. The series' mix of driving and on-foot enforcement stays, now under a skyline of towers rather than palm-lined boulevards.
Nick Kang's Los Angeles game is the previous chapter. This one belongs to Reed, the boroughs, and a department that does not trust its new man.
