History

Four turtles and a pile of Foot soldiers enter one arena in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Melee. Konami's 2005 brawler is a fighting spinoff of the cartoons, not a story platformer that walks the sewers scene by scene.

Leonardo's swords, Raphael's sai, Donatello's staff, and Michelangelo's nunchaku still mark the brothers, while Shredder's side can join the free-for-all. Items drop into the pit so a match is not only footsies and a special.

The cartoon platformers tell an episode. Mutant Melee throws the cast into a room and lets them hit each other, which is the spinoff's entire point.
