History

Hello Games launched No Man's Sky to a harsh reception, then spent years adding bases, story, and multiplayer to the procedural explorer. Atlas stations, the Anomaly, and sentinel drones are recurring landmarks, and that rocky start was in 2016 for Hello Games.

A planet can be crossed on foot, in a ship, or underwater, and the rocks feed the next launch. The early promises and the quieter launch are the controversy those updates answered.

Nintendo Switch received the expanded version, bases included. The loop is still naming a world and leaving it.
