History

Sound rings and light cones are visible on purpose in Mark of the Ninja. Klei's 2012 side-view stealth game shows those signals so a takedown can be planned instead of hoped for.

A guard's gaze is a shape on the floor, and a footstep draws a circle the player can see and the guard cannot. Terror, a score for style, and a path that avoids killing are options once the information is honest.

Klei's other games hide different kinds of systems. This one hides the ninja and reveals the senses, which is the opposite of a stealth game that makes the player guess.
