History

Josef the robot solves Machinarium, Amanita Design's point-and-click with almost no written dialogue, and a Nintendo Switch port followed the PC original. Picture bubbles replace speech, a hint book replays a cartoon, and the city of machines dates to 2009 on PC.

Josef's girlfriend is held somewhere above streets of metal citizens. Scrap prisons and inventory objects stand in for sentences.

Amanita, the Czech studio behind Samorost, painted the rooms by hand. The port keeps that silent comic pace.
